When a DocuSign remains unsigned, you still have the option to make changes as needed. Below are instances, not all, when we are required to make updates to the DocuSign sent:

  • DocuSign has a different signer.
  • DocuSign needs to be sent to a different email address.
  • Additional forms are needed.
  • Incorrect information was initially provided.


This is actually just pretty easy and below is the step-by-step guide on how to do it.


1. Once logged in to your DocuSign account, you will be directed to the Home Dashboard. You have two (2) options to look for the document, either (1) you click on "Manage" or (2) you click on "Waiting for Others". "Manage" will take you to all envelopes sent (be it signed or not), while "Waiting on Others" will direct you to all incomplete envelopes.


2. To look for the specific document, you may want to utilize the "Search" field or simply scroll down. Be reminded that you CAN'T correct COMPLETED envelopes, this can only be done to INCOMPLETE envelopes.


3. For this example, I will use the Payment Authorization Form - M2 Construction envelope and assume that I was asked to make changes. In order to do so, click on the dropdown button beside "Resent" and choose "Correct".


4. You will then be routed to a different page and can now make the necessary changes.


5. After all changes are made, click on "Correct". You will then be back to all envelopes. Search for the corrected envelope and click "Resend" this time.
